This rare pair of minimalist stoneware pottery vases were made by Miloš Balgavý in Czechoslovakia in the 1980's. Balgavý is known for various medium use, including glass. These pottery pieces are quite out of the ordinary so thoughtfully completed. They're hand-thrown with individual details to the piece.
What captures my attention most is the size of these pieces. They're elegant, yet sturdy, fine, yet strong. They're the perfect size and quite a pair.
While the bottom of the taller vase has had the tag removed, the hallmarks of these pots suggest Balgavý at every turn.
Dimensions: 6" tall and 4" tall respectfully.
Condition: In nice overall condition, some light scuffs to the matte glaze, and a small chip to the base of the 6" vase. See photos.
