This is an excellent white and black handmade ceramic pottery charger, imported by Raymor Imports from Italy. The early Raymor tag denotes the early 1950's. It's unclear who produced this piece. It may be that Aldo Londi made it for Bitossi. It's also possible Ettore Sottsass could have made it when he worked at Bitossi Ceramiche in the 1950's. The black and white glaze, with the thin blue hue in the middle is reminiscent of the sort of pieces he made, though the pieces he made generally had black lava glaze and a slightly different blue color. Perhaps he was experimenting, or perhaps this was made by someone else at a different pottery house. Either way, I've never seen another one and this one is pretty great.
Dimensions: 12" diameter
Condition: Vintage condition. There are no cracks, chips, or repairs. The glaze is imperfect in a few small areas. However, it presents quite well.
